Collection of maples in the botanical garden was started in the early 40s. The first part of the collection have been introduced exotic species: field maple (A. campestre), ginnala maple (A. ginnala), box elder (A. negundo), silver maple (A. saccharinum), Tatarian maple (A. tataricum), as well as local maple aquifolium (A. platanoides). Currently, the collection consists of 31 taxa — 23 species, 1 subspecies and 7 cultivars. Geographically, in the collection include representatives of all four regions of the spread of maples: the North American region – 9, Caucasian-European — 12, Central Asian — 1, East Asian — 9 taxa.
